Greg Shopteese

Gregory Owen Shopteese, 71, passed away Saturday September 28, 2024 at his home in Amarillo, Texas. He will be laid to rest with his father and mother during a private family ceremony.

Greg was born September 1, 1953 in Abilene, Kansas. The son of Francis T. Shopteese Sr and Margarette Childs. He was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Indian Nation. Greg loved going to Pow-Wow’s and collecting relics and painting. He spent most of his life working for Wal-Mart. Greg was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Francis T. Shopteese; his mother, Margarette Shopteese; his wife of 13 years Joann “Star” Shopteese.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Shopteese of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Francis T. Shopteese Jr and Arleine of Mayetta, Kansas; brother, Michael J. Shopteese and wife Nancy of Amarillo, Texas; Dawn Tyra of Amarillo, Texas; his nephews Eric and Brandon Shopteese of Borger, Texas; neice Amber Shopteese also of Borger, Texas; cousins, Pam, Yvonne, Terrie all of Oklahoma and Jody Shopteese of Indiana.
