Gregoria Moreno Alvarez

Gregoria Moreno Alvarez, 69, passed away on November 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday with a Rosary service starting at 1:00 PM with Liturgy of the Word to follow at 2:00 PM at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Gregoria was born On August 3, 1955 to Ysidoro and Evangelina Moreno in Lamesa, TX. She attended Hereford High School. Gregoria loved to dance she would dance to anything that sounded like music. She also enjoyed to sing, it was most always any Jenni Rivera song. Gregoria loved her family fiercely. She would do absolutely anything for her children and grandchildren. Gregoria was a great mother, grandmother, aunt and sister she was always there for her children and family. She was a pretty amazing cook for her kids when they were young, from homemade tortillas to mole’ or any great Mexican dishes. Gregoria would always have fresh made tortillas or hot oatmeal ready for her children on the cold days after school. She was life of the party or any family event, she knew how to brighten the room.  Gregoria will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ysidoro and Evangelina Moreno; her sister, Maria.

Survivors include her two daughters; Beatrice Castenda and husband Albert of McAllen, TX; Lydia Barba and husband Benny of Amarillo, TX; her two sons; Clyde Alvarez and wife Brandy of Amarillo, TX; Arthur Alvarez and wife Jennifer of Amarillo, TX; her 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister Gloria Trevino and husband Raymond of Hereford, TX; her two brothers; Ysidoro Moreno J of Hereford, TX; Lupe Moreno of Hereford, TX. Survivors also include of host of other family members and dear friends.
