H. Nick Miller

Celebration of life services will be 10:00 am Thursday, March 12, 2015 at First Baptist Church Sanctuary 1208 S. Tyler with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 6 - 8 pm. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Nick was born in Amarillo September 5, 1919 to Thelma Coble and Henry Newton Miller. He graduated from Amarillo High School and Amarillo College. He married Laurel "Smitty" Smith in Amarillo September 6, 1946, celebrating over 68 years of marriage until she predeceased him in January 2015. He served his country during World War II with the 8th Air Force. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, as well as, being a member of the Carpenters Local #665 in Amarillo. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Laurel. He is survived by his children, Dale Miller of Amarillo, Laurelee Oakley and husband Jay of Amarillo and Richard Miller and wife Connie of Canyon; by his grandchildren, Nick Miller and wife Teri, Jody Simpson and husband Brian, Lindsay Parsons and Leah Dawson and husband Rhett; also surviving him are 6 great grandchildren; and his brother, Willis Dick of Purcell, OK Please sign the online guest book at www.coxfuneralhomeamarillo.com
