Harlin “Bud” Mitchell, 78, of Amarillo, died Saturday, November 30, 2019. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Llano Cemetery. Bud was born November 9, 1941 in Red River County, Texas to Elbert and Mary Mitchell. He attended Amarillo High School. He married Jean Lawler on October 22, 1964 in Amarillo. They celebrated 55 years of marriage this year. Bud worked as a truck driver for the majority of his life. He drove for Feed Transport, Southern Transport, Sav A Stop, Saia, and Groendyke Transport throughout his career, retiring in 2009. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and westerns. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dalton Mitchell; and three sisters, Mildred Merrett, Nell Raff, and Lindy Beard. Survivors include his wife, Jean Mitchell; two daughters, Renee Woods and husband Tim, and Shanna Seward and husband Jerry all of Amarillo; a sister, Helen Charter and husband Richard of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Amanda Moore and husband James, Ethan Woods and wife Katie, and Elise Ward and boyfriend Justin Azbell; and 10 great-grandchildren.
