Harvey Sims

Harvey was born January 15, 1929 in Friona, TX to Leslie Bailey Sims and Inez McClellan Sims. Harvey grew up in central Oklahoma and graduated from Duncan High School. He attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He married Juanice Stapp May 27, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas and celebrated 64 years of marriage until her death in 2013. They had two sons, Larry and James. Harvey worked for Baker Hughes, retiring in 1990 after 36 years of service. He and Juanice were members of Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ in Ardmore, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters - Thelma Dixon, June Gibson, and Mary Wright, his wife Juanice and son Larry Sims. Survivors include sisters, Jean Schlittler of Murphy, Texas, Norma Massey of Maypearl, Texas, Edna Holloman of Booneville, AR, a son James (Jim) Sims and wife Laura of Amarillo, TX, grandchildren - Carry Stephens of San Antonio, Jamey Sims and wife Jenifer of Graham, TX, Erin Leeser and husband Andrew of Sugar Land, TX, Barrett Sims and wife Tiffany of Amarillo, TX, Hawk Rouse and Wolf Rouse of Ardmore, and seven great grandchildren.
