Homer Ray Hawkins

March 5, 1934 — September 26, 2015

Homer was born in Turkey, TX on March 5, 1934 to W.T. and Covel Hawkins. He served 2 years in the Army, being stationed in Ft. Lee, Virginia. After his discharge from the Army, he moved to Amarillo and worked at Peoples State Bank in Turkey for several years before his last job at Valley Peanut Growers where he worked until his retirement. Homer served on several boards in Hall County, including F.H.A. and F.M.H.A. and the Valley School Board in Turkey. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Hawkins of Amarillo; son, Kevin Hawkins of Amarillo; 7 brothers, Willie Hawkins and wife Anita of Dallas, Wayford Hawkins and wife Susie of Garland, Clyde Hawkins of Royse City, Paul Hawkins and wife Sunny of Vernon, James Hawkins and wife Mary Ann of Plano, Jimmy Hawkins and wife Betty of Lake Hawkins and George Hawkins and wife LaLynda of Wills Point. He was preceded in death by his parents.
