Imogene was born on January 16, 1932 to Henry Guy and Hattie Overton. She moved to Amarillo in 1944, where she graduated from Amarillo High School in 1950. She then married Harold Swafford on August 7, 1954.
Imogene enjoyed bingo and bowling and was a member of the Tin Pin League for over 40 years. She was employed for over 46 years with the Credit Bureau of Amarillo. She served as past president of the Associated Credit Bureaus of Texas and Credit Women International of Amarillo. She was also a longtime member First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Henry Harold Swafford of Lake Kiowa; son Mark Henry Swafford of Lake Kiowa; grandson, Jonathon Swafford of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Kaelyn Swafford of Lake Kiowa; sisters, Kathryn Lax of Clarksville, Ark and Hazel McCLane and husband Billy of Bentonville, Ark and Vera Mae Hargus of Amarillo and several very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George L. Weiss and sisters, Geneva Pauline Lax and Geraldine Overton.
