Jack C. Brogdon, 95, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Pastor Lance Herrington officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation time from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM before the service begins at the funeral home. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Borger.
Jack was born December 11, 1929 in Clarendon, Texas to Albert and Gladys Brogdon. He grew up around Clarendon and Mineral Wells. He married the love of his life, Imogene Elliott on August 27, 1949 in Memphis, Texas. The couple raised three children and enjoyed 75 years of marriage together. They spent 42 years in Borger, where Jack was employed at SPS. After his retirement, they moved to Amarillo in 1993. They were active members of First Baptist Church in Borger and Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo.
Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time, as well as working on guns and ammo. He was a true family man, a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his grandkids and took any opportunity to spend time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Shirley Jean Fine; three brothers, J.A. Brogdon, Roy Brogdon and James Brogdon; and a sister, Peggy Austin.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Brogdon; a son, Larry Brogdon and wife Priscilla of Mountain View, AR; a daughter, Sherri Alexander and husband Doug of Amarillo; two brothers, Albert “Junior” Brogdon and wife Pauline of Iowa, and David Brogdon of Mineral Wells, TX; two sisters, Helen Patterson of Mineral Wells, TX, and Linda Eagle of Diamond, MO; eight grandchildren, Brant Fine (Mary), Chad Fine (Jacqueline), Ryan Fine (Teri), Brett Brogdon (Angela), Stephanie Griffin (Matt), Brian Alexander (Haley), Shawn Alexander (Keri) and LaShella Carr (Tristan); 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Paramount Baptist Church Glory Singers.
