Jack Looney, Jr.

Jack Looney, Jr. 76, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Saint Stephen United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Cole and Rev. Ken Branum officiating. Jack was born on October 7, 1941 in Amarillo to Jack Sr. and Lorraine Looney. He was raised in Amarillo, graduating from Palo Duro High School in 1959. He then attended Wayland Baptist University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Jack married the love of his life, Elizabeth Mobley on October 10, 1975 in Amarillo. He worked in many different trades and was self employed throughout most of his life. As a father, he was active and involved, helping his children to achieve Eagle Scout and coaching them in soccer. He was known to be ornery by those he was closest to and was an avid fisherman. Jack and Liz have been devoted members of Saint Stephen United Methodist Church for over 42 years and he was a proud member of the Palo Duro Masonic Lodge. Jack is survived by his wife, Liz Looney of Amarillo; 2 sons, Heath Looney and wife Monica and Chad Looney and wife Ashley; daughter, Blair Timmons and husband Steve; 5 grandchildren, Mathan, Noah, Piper, Dylan and S.J., all of Amarillo and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Golden Spread Council Boy Scouts of America: 401 Tascosa Rd, Amarillo, TX 79124.
