Jack was born in Canadian March 30, 1936 to Florence and Tom Pendergraft. He graduated from Canadian High School and Amarillo College. He also attended West Texas A & M University. He married Marcia Johnston in Borger, June 23, 1957. He was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church and retired from Southwest Public Service after 38 years of service. He was a man of integrity with high standards. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he valued family, friends and church. His friends would call him the drugstore cowboy, and the love for his horse Sally Sue, was unsurpassed. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Tom Pendergraft.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia; his children, Garrett Pendergraft and wife Lezlie, and Mary
Ann Stephens and husband Chris; his grandchildren, Trey and Laef Pendergraft, Rachel, John, and David Stephens
all of Amarillo; his sister, Nila June Hunter and husband Royce of Lubbock; as well as 5 nieces and nephews.
