Jack Earl Slattery

September 8, 1937 — January 5, 2016

Jack was born on September 8, 1937 in Des Moines, IA to Kenneth and Eva Slattery. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on February 5, 1958 where he proudly earned the rank of Airman 2nd Class. He was honorably discharged on June 4, 1962. Jack then moved to Amarillo, where he married Bobby Nel Moore on January 4, 1963. Together they joined Comanche Trail Church of Christ in 1965, where Jack led the World Bible School. He was passionate about this ministry and devoted himself fully to its success. Most of all, he loved his family. He enjoyed many summer vacations with his granddaughters and loved to attend his grandsons' motorcycle races. He is survived by his wife, Bobby Slattery of Amarillo; daughter, Shelly Nab and husband Leon of West Haven, UT; 3 sons, Mark Slattery of Garland, Bruce Slattery and wife Gina of Happy and DeWayne Slattery of Atlanta, GA; brother, William Burt of Atlanta, GA; 4 grandchildren, Emilee, Tiffani, Jake and Joey and a great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his Parents and sister, Mary Belle Gilmore
