Jacky was born on February 9, 1941, in Stamford, Tx to Ernest and Willie Bob Gorden.  He started school in Avoca, Tx and graduated from Panhandle High School, Panhandle, Tx.  Jacky was a farmer and rancher most of his life.  He worked for the Kotara family in Carson County up until his retirement in the early 1980’s.  While in Panhandle he served as an adult 4-H Leader and was on the Carson County Stock Show Board.  Jacky’s second career began when he went to work for Luskey’s Western Wear in Amarillo, TX.  He was the Assistant Manager and became well known for his ability to crease a hat. In 1986, Jacky married Lynetta Crenshaw and they both worked at Luskey’s until 1995. They moved to Roosevelt County New Mexico to continue the ranching operation that Lynetta’s family had.   In 2017, Jacky moved back to Texas where he lived out the rest of his life.  He loved being a cowboy, trading horses, rodeos, country music and dancing.  He was a man of few words, was a hard worker, and believed in the value of a handshake. He will greatly be missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Jacky was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lynetta Gorden; three brothers, T.V, Jim and Bud; one sister; Dorothy.

Survivors include two daughters, La Donna Adkins and spouse Kelly of Canyon and Janet Guthrie and spouse Lynn of Canadian; one brother, Bobby Gorden and spouse Ursula of Wandlitz, Germany; four grandchildren, Nicole Guthrie and fiancé Brady Speer; Destry Guthrie; Vanessa Luster and spouse Colton; and Annie Welch and husband Garrett.
