Jacque Gibson Riley, 73, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday March 3, 2020 with her husband and sister-in-law at her side. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel.
Jacque was born October 18, 1946 in Borger to John and Mary Gibson. Jacque earned a Master’s degree in music and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin; She loved music. She married her sweetheart Mike Riley in September of 1995 and they spent over 30 years together. Jacque was a long time Oboe player; She was a member of the Austin Symphony and also played for the University of Texas orchestra. She loved to knit and sew and even made her own wedding dress. Jacque was a veracious reader. She had a passion for traveling with her husband, and they did so as often as they could. Jacque's favorite destinations included places like Big Bend Texas. She enjoyed photography, and was an excellent cook. Her husband Mike remembers how she was always a joyful person, never meeting a stranger and how much she loved him.
Jacque was preceded in death by her parents; and one uncle, Jim Francisco and his wife.
Survivors include her husband Mike Riley of the home; one stepson, Vance Riley; one sister-in-law, Bettie Warlick; her mother-in-law, Lavern Riley; one brother, Jim Gibson and his wife Audrey. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
