Kyle was born in 1958 in Amarillo to Charles and Billye Ruth Messer. He graduated from Amarillo High School and Indian Capital Technical Center in Muskogee, OK with a 2 year certificate in residential and commercial refrigeration and small engine repair. He suffered a serious work injury in 1999 and was disabled at the time of his death. Prior to his injury, he was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing. Kyle had a great sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh. He was the life of any party and loved a good joke. He was blessed with the ability to repair anything and was always willing to help anyone in need. He had a heart as big as Texas. He is survived by his children, Kyla Christenson and husband, Brandon, of Edmond, OK and Jacy Messer and wife, Amanda, of Warner, OK, a sister, Kaye House and husband, Lynn, of Amarillo, a brother, Karl Lee Messer and wife, Melissa, of Amarillo, six grandchildren, Caden, Cale and Brody Christenson and Abby, Natalee and Morgan Messer, nieces, Kaylynn Schrandt and husband, Aaron, of Buda, TX and Kenzie Smith and husband, Cody, of Canon City, CO, nephews, Chad House and wife, Brook, and Landon Messer, all of Amarillo, 5 great nieces and 3 great nephews. Kyle was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
