Jake Gilliam

Jake Gilliam, 41, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2026 at Hillside Christian Church, 6100 S. Soncy Rd. with Pastor Johnathan Mast officiating.

Jake was born December 21, 1984 in Durant, Oklahoma to David and Janet Gilliam. The family moved to Amarillo when Jake was eight years old. Jake attended Randall High School. Jake was a visionary and an entrepreneur. He was passionate about using his talents to help develop and launch successful businesses such as WTX Foundation Repair and most recent venture, Amarillo Custom Metal Buildings. Jake married his wife Charlene “Charlee” on September 18, 2008, in Amarillo. Together they have enjoyed 17 years of marriage and have two children, Ethan and Alexxis.

In his spare time, Jake enjoyed spending time with family and friends and building relationships. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling. Some of his favorite trips were traveling with his family all summer long for Ethan’s basketball tournaments. Jake was a positive, high-energy person who always had a kind word for everyone. He was an extremely happy person with a huge heart. He was loyal and loving. Jake will be greatly missed by his family, friends and coworkers.

Jake was preceded in death by his father, David E Gilliam.

Survivors include his wife, Charlee Gilliam; his son, Ethan Gilliam; his daughter, Alexxis Gilliam; his mother and stepdad, Janet and Wiley Francies of Graford, TX; his brother, Matthew Gilliam and wife Melissa. He is also survived by a host of loving friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to a benefit account that has been set up for Ethan and Alexxis at Amarillo National Bank. The account is under Charlene Renee Gilliam and anyone who wishes to donate may do so at any ANB location.
