James E. Allen, 75, of Amarillo, passed away January 20, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Saint Stephen United Methodist Church with Dr. Stan Cosby officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Llano Cemetery.
James Everett Allen was born October 24, 1939 in Electra, Texas to Ethel and Ross Allen. In January of 1958, he married Trudy England. She was his much-beloved wife of 49 years. They had three children, Christi, David, and Andy. James worked in a variety of jobs including being a fireman in Clovis, New Mexico for many years. During that time, he and a partner started a small business AAA Fire Equipment in Clovis. Because of James' hard work and honesty, he created a very successful business. This company eventually merged with Firehawk in Amarillo, Texas. The family moved to Amarillo in 1985. Eventually, James sold his business and began working for Sentry Fire Protection in sales and service. He was a member of Gideon's and Saint Stephen United Methodist Church in Amarillo. On July 10, 2009, he married Connie Shaver, in Thousand Oaks, CA and then again on July 18, 2009 in Amarillo. James and Connie lived in East Wenatchee, WA where he was a member of the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church and an active member of Mission Builders International. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him in many mission trips to Belarus, Mexico, Canada, Israel as well as California. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Ross Allen, and his first wife Trudy.
He is survived by his second wife, Connie Allen of East Wenatchee, WA; his daughter, Christi Herbert and husband Mike of Lubbock, TX ; his sons, David Allen and wife Christin of Lubbock, and Andy Allen and wife Renee of Amarillo as well as step-daughters Karena Allen and Becky Puhlman and husband Rick and grandchildren, Brooke and Brittny Herbert, Jake and Josh Allen, Kennedi Taylor, and Addisen and Aubrey Allen, Zo
