James Travis "Jim" Colwell

James Travis “Jim” Colwell, 75, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.

Jim was born January 20, 1951 in Amarillo, Texas to Price and Olga Colwell. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1969. He made his career in truck sales, leasing and service businesses. He spent the majority of those years at Roberts Truck Center. Jim and his wife Pat were members of Polk Street Methodist Church. Jim was a mason and a member of the Khiva Shrine. He served with the Amarillo Noon Lion’s Club, and was active in many ramp building projects and enjoyed working at the annual pancake breakfast with the club over the years. At Christmastime Jim enjoyed ringing the bell at the Red Kettle fundraisers for Salvation Army. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed working on his 1936 Chevy hot rod.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Price and Olga Colwell; and his wife, Pat Colwell.

Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Fetzko of Johnstown, PA; two sons, Miles Colwell of West Bend WI, and Wallace Colwell and wife Richelle of Lubbock, TX; a sister, Emadene Gerhardt and husband Bob of Amarillo, TX; a brother, Kirby Colwell and wife Gail of Medina, OH; six grandchildren, Kailey Fetzko, Roman Fetzko, Rocco Fetzko, Frankie Colwell, Jackson Colwell and Charlie Colwell; and several nieces and nephews.
