James "Wes" Doan

Wes was born August 18, 1970 in Dimmitt to Dale and Jeri Doan. He graduated from Vega High School, and attended Amarillo College and WTAMU. He married De Drown in 1994, and moved to Amarillo. Wes made his career as a working cowboy. He worked for LIT Ranch in Channing, IV Ranch in Canadian. He was the cattle manager at Tascosa Feed Yard, and most recently managed the Mora Ranch in Wagon Mound, NM for the last four years. Wes was on horseback from the time he was three years old. He did his own leatherwork. He loved people and never met a stranger. Wes was a great friend. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed him. He was a member of Palo Duro Baptist Church in Wildorado. Survivors include his wife, De Doan; a son, Walker Doan and wife Tiffany of Tucumcari, NM; a daughter, Shande Doan of the home; his parents, Dale and Jeri Doan of Wildorado; a sister, Shanna Koller and husband Monty of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Yuma Doan; two nephews, Darren Koller and wife Maddie of Midland, Dalton Koller of Amarillo; and a niece, Darbi Koller of Amarillo.
