James was born January 6, 1934 in Canadian to Callie and St. Elmo Murry King. James graduated from Canadian High School and served his country in the army during the Korean Conflict. James worked for the Santa Fe Railway and retired from BNSF railroad after 46 years. He was sort of a jack-of-all-trades, being able to fix just about anything. He also held a pilot's license and truly loved being outdoors. Fixing cars was a hobby of his. But his true passions were hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren watching all their sports from football, baseball, soccer, trap shooting, cheerleading, volleyball, motorcycle racing and anything and everything they participated in. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Johnny, Harold and Billy Joe and by his sister, Martha.
James is survived by his children, Ricky King and wife Deanne, Karen Alstead and husband Paul, Randie Bingham and husband Brad, Dwight King and wife Theresa all of Amarillo, and Robin Broxterman and husband Dean of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Aaron, A.J., Connor, Jason, Kelsie, Jourdan, Evan, Jefreanne, Ryan, Katie, Adam and Brennan; 20 great grandchildren; and his sister, Joyce West of Kokomo, IN; as well as numerous close nieces and nephews.
