James "Ken" Haddock

"True Story": Ken was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Johnny and Beulah Haddock. He married Mary Hagler on December 18, 1960 in Tucumcari, NM. They moved to Amarillo in 1961. Ken was a well-known mechanic. He started working for Standard Oil Company in the early 1960's. He later owned several full-service stations including Texaco, Conoco, Shell, and Exxon. Ken enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles. He and Mary toured Canada on a motorcycle trip. They were members of the Corvette Club and the Harley Club. After his retirement, he and Mary worked as a team transporting vehicles for McGavock Nissan. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping. Ken was a devoted Papa, who loved spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Haddock; three daughters, Kaye Baldwin and fiancé Jeff Paxton of Amarillo, Ginger Driscoll and husband Terry of Abernathy, and Kendra Neeley and husband Shawn of Amarillo; one brother, Glen Haddock and wife Barbara of Tahlequah, OK; two sisters, Earlene Adams and husband Kenny of Tahlequah, OK, and Brenda Ragland and husband Hermond of Dulce, NM; nine grandchildren, Kenny Baldwin, Kayla Broadus, Matthew Driscoll, Andrew Driscoll, Kyler Brown, Kaleb Brown, Karly Brown, Taylor Neeley, Grant Neeley; three great-grandchildren, Jovie, Levi, and Jameson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and one brother. The family suggests memorials be made to First Assembly of God Church, 6101 Bell St. Amarillo, TX 79109.
