James Thomas "Jim" Clements

September 16, 1943 — May 30, 2025

Amarillo

James Thomas Clements (Jim) joined his Heavenly Father on May 30th, 2025.  His was a life well lived.  He was honest, trustworthy, trusting, and faithful. He carried these traits all of his life.

Jim was a loving and loved grandson, husband, father and grandfather ("DaddyDaddy")  He spent hours learning about and perfecting his garden as a Certified Master Gardener, and encouraged his children when he took out time to help them hone their gardening skills.  He delighted his granddaughter by exploring the garden with her, magnifying glass in hand.  He could fix just about anything, either by following the directions, or most often, figuring out another creative way to make something work.  He never was too busy to stop and play dress up, horsey, be a coach, or be a helping hand if needed.  Jim was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, tennis player, and football enthusiast and passed the love of these things to his daughters.  He was a lifelong learner, loving history, most anything relating to business, sports, and gardening.  He gave back to the community, most recently, by helping the blind with their finances, and aiding individuals with applying for and receiving their Social Security.

He spent most of his early life in Farwell, Texas where he was raised mostly by his Grandmother Willie Lovelace, graduated from Farwell High School, and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Finance.  He used his education to work as Controller of several large businesses, and for his own companies, Woodstone Financial and Old Texas Mortgage.  He married Rosemary Brown Clements while attending ENMU.

Jim and Rosemary were married for 56 great years, and had three children; Corey Shaun (deceased), Courtney Shawn Clements Fryman of Ft. Worth, and Tiffany Khigh Clements of Ft. Worth.  He had one granddaughter, Rosemary Xanatha Fryman (Rexy).

Jim was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, where he served on several boards, taught Sunday school, and volunteered his time for various programs and projects. Jim will be dearly missed.
