James "Big Jim" Hudson

James “Big Jim” Hudson, 76, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM James Monday January 11, 2021 at Llano East Cemetery with Rev. Dede Ballou officiating.

James was born on August 22, 1944 in Amarillo to Cleve and Hazel Hudson. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1962. James married his sweetheart Barbara on March 21, 1969 in Amarillo; they spent many wonderful years together. He worked for Pantex for 32 years. James served in the Vietnam War and was decorated Veteran.

James enjoyed sitting on his patio and smoking cigars and watching old westerns. He enjoyed going to the farmers market, where he would helped his friends out.  James loved to talk about guns and history.

James is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife Barbara; three sons, Darin Hudson and wife Jennifer, Kelly Tomlinson and wife Jennifer, James Hudson Jr. and his wife Rhonda; daughter, Tonie Paciorek; eleven grandchildren; seven  great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the VA or BSA of the Southwest.
