James Lewis

James Lewis, 90, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021. No services are scheduled at this time.

James was born January 7, 1931 in Starke, Florida. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He moved to Amarillo after his service. James married June Wesley on January 3, 1953 in Clovis, NM. The couple were longtime members of Cliffside Baptist Church. James worked in sheet metal for his career. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with cars and was a very talented carpenter. He also loved race cars.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Lewis; a son, Jim Lewis; four sisters; and his twin brother.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Miller and husband Dave of Florida, and Kelly Wilson and husband Steve of San Angelo; a sister, Joyce Hamilton of Florida; five grandchildren, Sara, JW, Abby, Steffany, and Jamie; and three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Makinley, and Tucker.
