James "Dakota" Lusby can be seen in the photo here shaking hands with John Wayne at his Birthday party in 1968. They had just celebrated the release of "The War Wagon" a 1967 film.
Dakota took part in the festivities as a western entertainer. Lusby was a true cowboy.
