James "Jimmy" Parker

James “Jimmy” Parker, 62 of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday September 14, 2023. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM at AmTech Career Center, 3601 Plains Blvd. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born on January 24, 1961 in Asheville, North Carolina to Edgar and Wanda Parker. He attended North Buncombe High School. Jimmy married Wendy on March 14, 1992 at Bent Creek Baptist Church and together they spent 31 year together before his passing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Jimmy was also an avid hunter and stream fisherman. He loved fishing in Kades Cove in Tennessee, as well as Wolf Creek. Jimmy even taught Wendy how to fly fish, and she almost got better than he was. He was always a good friend and very dependable. Jimmy loved to be outdoors, always piddling on something.  He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Wendy Parker of the home; one son, Brent and wife Brook Parker; one grandson, Tanner Parker; one brother, Mark Parker and wife Sheila all of North Carolina; two fur babies, Terra Byte and Daycee Mae; his best friend Jake Delacruz and wife Andrea as well as their daughters, Monica, Cassandra, and Crystal.
