James Milton Richards

James Milton Richards, 82 of Amarillo left this world on September 11, 2022. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

The family will receive friends at James Richards’ viewing on Tuesday September 13, 2022 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. There will be a gathering to remember and honor James at Shoshanna and Caleb’s house, Wednesday September 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

James was born to Harry and Faye Richards on June 13, 1940 in County Line, Oklahoma.

After graduating from Phillips High School, James joined the U.S. Navy. When he retired from the Navy, he worked as a skilled machinist for many years. James loved his family dearly and always put them first. He enjoyed working with his hands building things, carpentry, refinishing old pieces, sewing, and tinkering with cars.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon G. Richards, and his children Garth M. Richards and Kayla D. Richards; his sisters, Anita and Carroll; his brother, Jerry; and his parents, Harry and Faye.

James is survived by his daughters, Justie McKenna, Jo and Greg Clancy, Cari Ostrom, Shoshanna and Caleb Pearson; his son Charles and Tifany Ostrom all from Amarillo, Texas. He has 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and a few great-great grandchildren. He has a host of nieces, nephews, and other beloved friends and relatives.
