James Keith was born Oct. 6, 1990, in Amarillo to Jeri Starr. James Keith was raised in Amarillo, where he attended Austin Middle School, Tascosa High School and Richard Milburne Academy. James Keith worked as a mechanic and was attending Amarillo College in pursuit of a degree in diesel mechanics.
James Keith loved his music and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Most of all, James Keith loved his family. James Keith was an excellent father, his mother's rock, his sisters' protector and his father's companion while working on cars. James Keith was known to be kind and warm-hearted and would do anything to take care of others.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Starr and his great-grandparents, Bill and Janice Sutton.
Survivors include his parents, Gerald "Bud" and Jeri Starr of Amarillo; three sisters, Tambria Starr, Kolbi Starr and Kelsie Holt, all of Amarillo; a brother, Tyler Whitman of Dumas; a daughter, Peyton Sutton; two sons, Dustin Fincher and Rylan Sutton, all of Amarillo; his grandparents, Bobby "Pops" and Donna "G-G" Sutton of Amarillo, Les and Pat Carlson of Adair, Okla., and Rita Starr of Amarillo; great-grandparents, "Papa" John and Betty "Nana" Groomer of Amarillo; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to High Plains Epilepsy Association, 1411 E. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79107.
