Jammy Souix Murray

Amarillo

Jammy Souix Murray, 42, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, August 12th, 2021. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Hillside Christian Church with Pastor Greg Corona officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Jammy was born in Pampa, Texas on May 2nd, 1979 to Jimmy and Paulette Murray. He grew up in Miami, Texas. On September 22, 2002, he married the love of his life, Stephanie. Together they raised 3 beautiful daughters: Sydney, Jayden, and Taylor. Jammy served 20 years as a Torpedoman in the United States Navy Submarine Force. He served on three different submarines during his career: USS Maryland (Blue), USS Wyoming (Gold) and finally on the USS Montpelier. He made 14 deterrent patrols and one deployment. He never intended on being a “lifer” but he re-enlisted on his own and Steph may have bribed him a time or two to keep going. He retired only two short years ago to start the next chapter of his life with his family. Upon retiring from the military, Jammy got a job at Pantex where he worked for the past two years. Jammy was so fun to be around, everyone enjoyed his company and laughter wherever he went. His laugh is not one to soon be forgotten by his family and friends. Jammy loved with his whole entire heart. His wife and kids were everything to him. They were always the top of the conversation while out to sea. Jammy and Steph recently bought a 5th wheel and planned to start traveling with it. After their first trip he was hooked! When they returned home he immediately asked Steph, where are we going next and when can you book it?  He enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, theme parks, roller coasters, and spending time at the lake with his family. Jammy was a very loving husband, very loving father and a brother to all he served with. He will be dearly missed.

Taylor has requested that family and friends in attendance do not wear black if possible.

Jammy was preceded in death by his father, Jim Murray; and two brothers, Jimmy Murray and Danny Murray.

Survivors include his wife Stephanie of the home; three daughters, Sydney, Jayden, and Taylor all of the home; mother, Polly Murray of Miami; one brother, Fred Evans and wife Tamara of Borger; two sisters, Charlene Phillips and husband Gary and Betty Holland and husband Mark all of Borger.

Survivors also include a brother by heart Michael Roberts and wife Danielle, two daughters by love Kenzie and Megan Roberts all of Amarillo; his parents-in-law, James and Judy Sanders and Michelle and Harry Jaggard all of Amarillo.
