Jane Parker Collins

Jane Parker Collins passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr., in Amarillo, Texas, with Pastor Lennie McCay officiating.

Jane was born in Paducah, Texas on October 20, 1939, to Clarence Marshall Parker and Hazel Katherine Parker. She was raised with her brother, Charles Parker, and sister, Ann Parker Devaney.

Jane was a devout Christian. She was raised in the church, by her loving parents. She attended St. Mary’s all-girl Catholic school from 1st-12th grade, where she graduated. She attended some college, then went on to work as a legal secretary for several prominent attorneys in Amarillo. She also worked part-time, for years, with Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home. Jane was a hard worker and often worked two jobs.

Jane had three children, Martha Jane Whitecotton, Mel Tucker, and David Anthony Taylor. She did her best, as a single mother working two jobs, to raise her children. She had the loving support of her parents, Clarence and Hazel Parker.

She married the love of her life, Michael J. Collins, on September 30, 1998. Jane and Mike were very active members of Washington Avenue Christian Church. They dedicated their service to the Family Service Center Outreach. Jane also was very active, for years, in the Paramount Terrance Christian Church Choir. She performed in the Christmas Pageant, at the Civic Center, for several years.

Jane was an avid Notre Dame fan. She could be heard throughout the Craig long term care unit, whooping, hollering, and cheering them on. She anticipated every Notre Dame game scheduled on Saturdays.

Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael J. Collins, May 15, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Hazel Parker, sister, Ann Parker Devaney, and brother, Charles Parker.

She is survived by her children, Martha Whitecotton (Dan), Mel Tucker (Bethany), and David Anthony Taylor (Brandi). She was a beloved Nana to her six grandchildren: Aaron Whitecotton (Heather), Lauren Rose (Chris), Derek Taylor (Pennie), Blake Taylor (Corrine), Zach Molden (Andrea), and Haley Taylor (Miranda).

She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren: Carly Sandoval (Colton), Bailey Taylor (Brittany), James Taylor, Tanner Taylor, Shaelynn Taylor, Amiyah and Rayyan Molden, Jet, Jax, Lila, and Lorelei Whitecotton, Theo Taylor, and Parker and Cash Rose.

She leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who will cherish her memory and hold her close in their hearts.

May she rest in peace and in the comfort of God’s hands. The family is deeply grateful for the staff at The Craig Senior Living and BSA Hospice for the care you provided her.
