Janice Canada

Janice Canada, 71, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 East I-40, with Antone Sanders officiating.

Janice was born August 17, 1952 in Amarillo to Lee and Shirley Armstrong.  She married her husband B.J. Canada on December 1, 1973.  They had their daughter Tish one year later on December 15.  Janice was a very hard worker. She worked in the roofing business alongside her husband for 13 years. They chased storms all over repairing rooves in the Texas Panhandle and into Southern Colorado.  Janice worked as a server at Country Pride Restaurant for 24 years. In her spare time, Janice loved going to the beach and to the mountains. She enjoyed fishing and also playing the slots in Las Vegas. She was stubborn to the core and had a great sense of humor. She was a very giving and caring person. Most importantly, Janice adored her grandchildren; they were her whole world, and she enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible. Janice also loved her precious dog, Snowflake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Shirley Armstrong; her husband, B.J. Canada; a brother, Eddie Armstrong; and a sister, Tracy Ratliff.

Survivors include two daughters, Tish Sanders and husband Antone of Amarillo, and Tanya Canada; two brothers, Gary Armstrong and wife Angela, and Danny Armstrong and wife Dana all of Amarillo; and her three beloved grandchildren, Madison Goodman, Natalie Sanders and Brian Sanders.
