Jason Robert Grant

December 11, 1975 — March 16, 2021

Amarillo

Jason Robert Grant, 45, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Rev. Jeff Pies officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Jason was born December 11, 1975 in Amarillo to Bob and Dianne Grant. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1994 and loved his time as a Sandie. Jason initially attended Texas Tech University where he earned a bachelor degree in Biology. Jason was extremely intelligent and found his passion in helping people in their times of need. He furthered his education by becoming a Licensed Paramedic and earning his bachelor degree in Nursing from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, where he graduated summa cum laude and was on the President’s Honor Roll. Jason used his education by initially working as a first responder Paramedic in the Lubbock and Dallas areas and went on to work as a Registered Nurse with a concentration in critical care. Jason took great pride in his work as both a Paramedic and a Registered Nurse where his patients were always very fond of him. Jason was very witty but always kept a poker face. He could always catch you off guard with his quick wit and unexpected sense of humor. Jason followed news and politics quite often and could recite facts and statistics accurately at the drop of a hat so he always enjoyed a good political or science debate or discussion. Jason was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, loved riding fast motorcycles, could give you a run for your money playing Texas Hold ‘em and of course he never missed watching his beloved Texas Tech Red Raiders in all sports they played. He was always ready with a “Gun’s Up” or ‘Wreck ‘em” at any time you needed one. Jason loved not only his precious pets but all animals and worked diligently to foster, donate and support animal rescue and transport here in Amarillo. Without a doubt, his beloved fur babies, Suzy, Ross, and Scotty were waiting happily for him at the rainbow bridge and what a joyous site that reunion must have been.

Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Dorothy Nell Grant; his maternal grandfather, Raymond Cunningham; his uncles, Roger Cunningham and Gene Jones; his aunt Vickee James and his cousin, Scott Jones.

Survivors include his mother, Dianne Grant of Amarillo; his father, Bob Grant and wife Pamela of Sherman, Texas; his grandmother, Ellen Cunningham of Amarillo; his brother, Greg Grant and wife Michelle of Little Elm, Texas; his sister, Stacy Grant and fiance’ John Perkins of Amarillo; his precious niece, Gracie Leigh; three aunts, Eileen Jones, Leslie Cunningham and husband Kevin and Donna Driggers; three uncles, Bobby Cunningham and wife Penny; Phil Grant and wife Lalinda and J. E. James; and five very special cousins, Sheri, Dwayne, Shannon, Chad, and Heather. Because of Jason’s great love of animals, the family suggests memorial donations may be made in support of the campaign for a new van for the Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society, PO Box 30102, Amarillo, Texas 79120.
