Jay will be available for viewing from 1:00 – 5:00 PM Saturday and 12:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Jay was born on February 1st, 1960 to Jimmy and Sue Morrison in Memphis, TX. He graduated from Canyon High School where he played football and was affectionately known as "Moose" by all.  After high school, he was a partner with his father in Morrison & Son Wallcovering Specialists for several years.  He was married for 27 years and had two children. His love of sports carried into his support for his children's athletic careers, coaching many of their teams while they were younger.  After advancing to middle and high school sports where others took over the coaching, he was often one of the few parents to show up to watch practice on a daily basis.   And, of course, he never missed any games.

He has worked at Builder's Square and Lowe's where he was the first Installation Manager for many years.  He mainly worked as a "Mr. Fix It" for most of his career and finally found the perfect fit working for First Baptist Church, who continued to support him even through his recent illness.

He found enjoyment taking his travel trailer on sightseeing adventures camping, fishing, and sitting enjoying the setting sun.  He also bowled in a league for 15 years.

He loved to sing and perform in church programs at Washington Avenue Christian Church where he was an active member for many years. His passion for singing was highlighted through his love of karaoke. His devotion to the arts continued later in life with his support for the local art scene on Route 66 at Sonya's where he enjoyed the activities and spending time with friends.

Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn "Sue" Morrison, on March 16, 1998.

He is survived by his father, Jimmy Morrison; his daughter, Patrice Wilson and son-in-law, Derek Wilson; his son, Blake Morrison and daughter-in-law, Lauren Morrison;, his girlfriend, Sonya Lukas; and four grandchildren: Brecken Wilson, Ava Morrison, Collins Wilson, & Madelyn Morrison.  He is also survived by many other family members, friends, and loved ones. His children and grandchildren will always remember their Daddy and Pappy as the sweetest teddy bear and a gentle spirit who was full of silly jokes.  He gained his wings too soon and will be dearly missed by many.
