Jean Mitchell, 77, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday at Llano Cemetery, with Chaplain Jeff Messer officiating.
Jean was born August 27, 1943 in Wheeler, Texas to Pete and Thelma Lawler. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Harlin “Bud” Mitchell on October 22, 1964. Jean worked as a beautician before starting her family. She later worked for Blackburns, Cloth World, and Hancock Fabrics. Jean was a talented seamstress, and enjoyed cross stitch and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Harlin “Bud” Mitchell.
Survivors include two daughters, Renee Woods and husband Tim, and Shanna Seward and husband Jerry all of Amarillo; a brother, Gary Lawler and wife Denise of Auburn, GA; a sister, Patsy Blades and husband Gaylon of Topeka, KS; a granddaughter, Amanda Moore and husband James; a step-granddaughter, Elise Ward and fiance’ Justin Azbell; a step-grandson, Ethan Woods and wife Katie; 10 great-grandchildren, Lily, Alex, Erik, Lylah, Jakobi, Abbel, Boston, Remi, Maverick, and Oakley; and several nieces and nephews.
