Jean Reneau

Jean Reneau, 82, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Arden Road Baptist Church, 6701 Arden Road, with Pastor Aaron Denson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 -6:00 PM Wednesday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Jean was born June 29, 1938 in Pampa, Texas. She grew up in the Texas panhandle. She married Russell Reneau on October 24, 1953 in Clovis, New Mexico. They enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage together. Jean worked for Fedway Dept. Store and then for Amarillo National Bank for over ten years. Jean and Russell were active members of Arden Road Baptist Church for over 34 years. She loved serving at her church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Mema, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted witness for Christ, and shared His love with countless people in her lifetime. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jean was preceded in death by her father, Victor Bearden; her mother, Eula Velasquez; and three sisters, Hazel Cook, Helen Jeffers, and Barbara Sue Finck. Survivors include her husband, Russell Reneau; three sons, Danny Reneau and wife Marla, Russ Reneau and wife Joan, and Marty Reneau and wife Sandy all of Amarillo; two brothers, Ben Velasquez and wife Lana of Amarillo, and Gary Velasquez and wife Nancy of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
