Jean Scofield

Jean Scofield, 92, of Amarillo, passed away on April 17, 2025. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 AM Monday April 21, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral home, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Danny Logan officiating.

Jean was born on August 11, 1932, in the town of Elm Springs, Arkansas, to her loving parents, William and Annie Allen. From an early age, she cherished the simple yet beautiful moment’s life provided. Her days were often filled with creative homemaking—whether she was crocheting, tending to her garden, sewing, or baking the tray of brownies her loved ones so often requested. Her home radiated warmth, filled with handmade treasures and the comfort of her loving presence.

Jean had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. Traveling with her loved ones brought her immense joy, and among all the places she visited, Memphis, Tennessee, held a particularly special place in her heart.

A natural-born caregiver, Jean poured her love and kindness into everything she did, especially when it came to taking care of those dearest to her. She had a soft smile and a heavy laugh that will be missed deeply by the ones she loved. Her strength will continue to inspire them as they share her life with generations to come.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, her son Stan Scofield, and her grandson John Scofield.

She is survived by her four children: her son, Kenny Scofield; and her daughters, Pat Newberry and husband Robert, Bev Elam and husband Gary, and Kim Ball. Jean was a proud and loving grandmother to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friend.
