Jenny Sue Cox, 73, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Trinity Fellowship Church, West Auditorium, 5000 Hollywood Rd. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Jenny was born November 9, 1951 in Quanah, Texas to Warren and Sue Hardin. She married the love of her life, Sherwin Cox, on March 10, 1974 in Houston. Together they shared 51 years of marriage and raised two children, Ty and Teela. She dedicated her life to caring for her family.
Jenny worked alongside her husband, Sherwin, from 1981-2017 at Ross Rogers Golf Course. Jenny was an unsung hero who did the tedious behind-the-scenes preparation work for major tournaments, fundraisers and civic and charity events. Her work included tournament preparation, scorecards, cart tags, rule sheets, etc. Jenny was known for her excellent calligraphy and the beautiful scoreboards that she created for hundreds of tournaments each year.
Jenny and Sherwin were active members of Trinity Fellowship Church, since the late 1970’s, where Jenny served on the prayer team and prophetic team, as well as playing the Shofar. She also used her artistic talents to create banners for church displays. Jenny had a true servant’s heart. She loved serving the golfers and greeting them after their round at the scoreboard, even if they hadn’t played all that well.
Jenny cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandsons. She bought them books as often as she could, and she loved reading to them, especially at bedtime when she could tuck them in. Jenny was a woman of great faith, always putting others before herself. She loved deeply, never expecting anything in return, and she never had an unkind word to say about anyone. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Michael Hardin.
Survivors include her husband, Sherwin Cox; her son, Ty Cox and wife Azura of Ft. Worth; her daughter, Teela Miesner and husband Marty of Midland; and two grandsons, Tucker Miesner and Hudson Miesner.
