Jerome Henry Hodges

Henry was born Sept. 1, 1946, and passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2:07 a.m. after a lengthy illness. He joined the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was statioined aboard the USS Oriskany in the Gulf of Tonkin and the Serbic Bay. He received the Bronze Star, two Vietnam Service medals, and the Good Conduct medal. After returning home from the service, he was a meat cutter for 35 years. He was a member of Valle de Oro Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Henry Hodges Sr. and Vivian Nadine Caruth Hodges; and two nephews and a niece, James, Jamie Lynn and Darla Carole Suzette. Survivors include two sisters, Carole Scales of Amarillo and Paula Di Benedetto of Quincey, Fla.; three daughters, Kassandra Ane, Vanessa Diane and Kindra Dee; six grandchildren; three nephews, Richard Bell of Amarillo and Dax DiBenedetto and Lot DiBenedetto, both of Dallas; and a niece, Tina Southern of Canyon.
