Jerry Don Arrington passed away February 27, 2025 in Amarillo, Texas. He is survived by his wife, LaJuana Jo of the home, daughter Jana Lee and husband Jeffrey of Amarillo, son Joel Arrington and wife Ronnie of Delta, Colorado, eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Stidger of Amarillo and 2 nephews, Terry Stidger and Mary Beth of Kalispell, Montana and Rick Stidger and wife Bonnie of Springfield, Oregon.
Jerry was born December 10, 1936 in Roswell, New Mexico. He attended public schools in Lubbock, Texas then went on to attend Wayland Baptist University for undergraduate studies and WTAMU to earn a Masters Degree in School Administration and Counseling.
Out of college, Jerry taught Junior High and High School choral music, then moving on to become a K-12 Counselor at Phillips Independent School District in Phillips, Texas. Following that, he served several Southern Baptist Churches in Texas and Colorado as Associate Pastor and Pastor.
Jerry loved people and cultivated strong relationships with everyone he met. He had a special place in his heart for those with special needs.
The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date and asks that any gifts be given in memorial to Jerry’s home church:Coulter Road Baptist Church, Amarillo, TX or to Harvest Community Church in Olathe, Colorado.
