Jerry Lynn Nelson

Jerry Lynn Nelson, 81, of Canyon died Friday, January 23, 2026. A private Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.

Jerry was born March 30, 1944, in Amarillo to Dee and Velma Buttrill. She was raised in Hereford and Canyon. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, and many other hands-on crafts and hobbies.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Dee and Velma Buttrill; her sister, Donna Davis; her brother Randy Buttrill; her brother-in-law Richard Fleming; her son-in-law Kevin Loewenstern; and her former husband Stanley Nelson.

Survivors include her devoted and loving daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Phelan Loewenstern of Amarillo, TX, with whom she resided until her death; her daughter, Deborah Lynn Phelan Casida and husband Tyler of Canyon, TX; her sons, Michael Joe Phelan of Frisco, TX; Christopher Glenn Phelan and wife Alyce of Amarillo, TX; Terry Duane Phelan and wife Cathy of Amarillo, TX; her grandson Ryan Kyle Loewenstern, Esq., of Oklahoma City, OK; her sister Alvadee Fleming of Canyon, TX; her niece, Dana Fleming Stone and husband Mike of Pampa, TX; her nephews, Damon Fleming and wife Melissa of Veguita, NM; and Cale Fleming of Canyon, TX. Survivors also include many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and dear friends.
