Jerry was born December 7, 1943 in Quanah, Texas to Elbert and Marjorie Wells. He graduated from Quanah High School. He married the love of his life, Helen Gower on March 19, 1972 in Amarillo. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage together.
Jerry started out working for Garner Motors before becoming a real estate agent and broker. He then worked for TCA Cable. Later, he and Helen owned and operated Mid-America Credit. Jerry eventually went into business as a house-flipper. He then became a landlord, owning several properties. Jerry was a fantastic house painter. He did beautiful work and always strove for perfection.
In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed hunting with friends in Colorado, but shooting his gun quickly transitioned into shooting his camera. He spent time each year fishing for catfish at Amstead Lake. Jerry enjoyed playing poker with his buddies, Darrell, Tony, Don, Ron and Bart. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
