Jesus And Lupe Escoto

Amarillo

Lupe "Mama Lu" and Jesus Escoto

Mama Lu peacefully passed away on September 26, 2020. Jesus calmly joined Mama Lu on September 27, 2020. Though our hearts are broken, we knew one could not live without the other.

Mama Lu was born on August 15, 1931 in Texas. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake. Everyone loved her chile rellenos and sugar cookies. She made the most beautiful quilts and needle point designs. She was a lifetime member of the Guadalupanas and a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She loved to sing and dance. She loved her grandchildren and great granddaughter deeply.

Jesus Escoto was born May 7, 1933 in Texas. He was a carpenter for 45 years. He was also a loyal member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus for 34 years. He was part of the Carpenters union for many years and served on many different community boards. He devoted much of his time to the Hispanic community and his family.

They loved their children and grandchildren very much, often you could find them at their many different sporting events cheering them on.

They married July 13, 1952 in Amarillo. They lived a notebook style life, holding hands until their final breaths. They are proceeded in death by their parents Lucas and Rafaela Cruz, Juan and Manuela Escoto and many siblings and 2 grandsons Tanner and Noah Escoto. Survived by 3 sons, Lawrence Escoto and Wife Maria, Ignacio Escoto, Martin Escoto and his wife Hope. Grandchildren Adam Escoto, Daniel Escoto, Joshua Escoto, Corey Escoto, Nicholas Escoto, and Nerissa Escoto, and their only great granddaughter Addilyn Cole.
