Jim Bob Carney

Jim Bob was born March 21, 1943 in Amarillo to James Robert (Bob) and Alma Mary Drerup Carney. He attended Price College in Amarillo. He lived in the Gandview Community all of his childhood. He married Carla Faye Smith, in Groom, on August 27, 1962, when he was a farmer and rancher. They moved to Tioga, TX in 1965, where he was the president and secretary/treasurer of the Tioga JayCees, which he helped charter. He chartered the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in Tioga, and was a Tioga city alderman. He was an avid bowler, fisherman and competed in trap shooting. He was an entrepreneur and had many successful enterprises. He retired in 2005. He is preceded in death by his parents, JR and Alma Carney. He is survived by his wife, Carla; a son, Edward Carney and wife Dawn of Amarillo; 2 grandchildren, Michael and Amber Carney of Amarillo; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
