Jim "The Nutman" Tiffee

June 27, 1953 — November 18, 2015

Jim was born on June 27, 1953 in Amarillo to J.L. and Ola Mae Tiffee. He was raised here in Amarillo, where he graduated from Amarillo High School in 1971. He then married Gae Barnes on June 29, 1971. Jim attended Amarillo College where he received his Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed at Asarco as a maintenance mechanic for 19 years before establishing his own business. Jim and Gae owned and operated Amarillo German Roasted Nuts where they were local favorites at the the TriState Fair, gunshows and many other events throughout the Tri-State area. They have been active members of Trinity Baptist Church since 2000, where Jim faithfully attended the Friday Morning Men's Prayer Breakfast. He was passionate about playing, whether it be hunting, fishing or jeeping. He was a member of the Amarillo Jeep Exclusive Club and the Quail Unlimited Club. Above all, Jim loved his family! He cherished many vacations and outdoor excursion with his family. He was known for his twinkling eyes, mischievous grin and quick-witted, ornery humor. He is survived by his Wife, Gae Tiffee; mother, Ola Mae Tiffee; son, James "Pete" Tiffee and wife Brook; daughter, Susan Reid and husband Scott; 6 grandchildren, Tyler Reid, Tahlia Tiffee, Kylee Reid, Christopher Tiffee, Macee Reid and Kinsey Reid, all of Amarillo and his brother, James Lewis Tiffee of St. Petersburg, FL. He was preceded in death by his Father, J.L. Tiffee and sister, Margie Mae Nation. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to BSA Hospice.
