Joan Simpson

Joan B. Simpson, Age 91 was called home to be with her Lord and savior on Nov 8, 2024.  She was born May 29, 1933 in Camden N.J. and "born again" on March 7, 1983 in Estes Park, Co. as instructed by John 3:3-8.

Joan married her high school sweetheart Marvin C, Simpson on June 13, 1953. (who sadly passed away in 2011.) They had 3 devoted children Ken Simpson (Mary), Donna Shorter (Roland), and Deb Hensley (Mark).

She leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Jason Brooks, Shannon Brooks, Beth Wells (John) and 11 great-grandchildren.

Joan taught school for 20 years in N.J. and later managed the Sword & Scroll Christian bookstore in Estes Park, Co. for 7 years. In 1996 she moved to Amarillo, Texas to help care for her 1st great grandchild, Tony Shaffer Jr. Children were Joan's life and she loved every one of them. She had a special bond with her great granddaughter Airianna Rusk. Joan enjoyed family games, telling jokes, reading, sharing the gospel, scrabble, Journaling and sharing family stories about growing up during World War II.
