Joanne Lucille (Frazier) Gonzales

December 31, 1958 — March 16, 2024

Amarillo

With hearts full of gratitude to the Lord for the gift of her life, we announce the peaceful passing of Joanne “Jo” Lucille Gonzales (Frazier) on March 16, 2024, in Amarillo, TX, at the age of 65. Joanne was born to Arnold and Sally Frazier on December 31, 1958, in Fountain, CO, and was a beacon of Christ's love and humility throughout her life.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Joanne's life and her homecoming to the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Bushland in Bushland, TX. The Cox-Rowley Funeral Home in Amarillo is providing comfort to the family in these arrangements.

The family welcomes those who wish to pay their respects and share in fellowship to do so from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. before the service. In this time of mourning, the family extends their heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of prayers, support, and love.

Joanne's life was a living testament to the virtues of faith, hope, and charity. She walked in humility, always placing others before herself, and her generous spirit was a reflection of her profound respect for all of God's creation. As a devoted wife to Raymond of almost 46 years, a nurturing mother to Tim, Rachel, and Michelle, a loving mother-in-law to Chris and Kelly, and a doting grandmother to Audree, Ethan, Alyssa, Eliza, Tayden, and Addyson. Her life was an embodiment of selfless love.

With a servant’s heart, Joanne answered her calling as a teacher, specializing in Special Education at Dumas ISD and River Road ISD. Her unwavering commitment and compassion had a lasting impact on the hearts and minds of her students, and she humbly served as a vessel of God's grace in her profession.

Joanne cherished the simple joys of life: quilting as an act of creation, cruising as a celebration of God's vast wonders, and baking with her granddaughter Addy as a form of fellowship. She was a devout member of the Church of Bushland, where she nurtured her faith and found strength in the fellowship of her church family.

Joanne is survived by her beloved husband; children; grandchildren; siblings, Irvin, Faye, Ginger, Audrey; Dennis the father of two of her grandchildren, and a host of relatives, friends, and those whose lives she touched. Jo leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion. She is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Arnold and Sally Frazier, her mother-in-law Gloria Gonzales, and brother-in-law Carlos Gonzales.

Her memory will be cherished as a blessing, and her spirit will continue to inspire us to live with gratitude, to serve with joy, and to love without end.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Faith City Ministries Women & Children’s Emergency Shelter at 600 N. Tyler, Amarillo TX 79107.
