John A. Burris

John A. Burris, 78, of Amarillo, passed away on April 24, 2022. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

John was born on April 14, 1944 in Jefferson City, MO to Clyde and Mildred Burris. He has been a part of the Amarillo community since 1952 and married his wife Mary on November 5, 1966. Together he and Mary have enjoyed over 55 years of marriage together. John was a veteran of the United States Army and was proud to serve his country. He worked as a mechanic for most of his life, but also did framework as a young man. John enjoyed tinkering with anything involving mechanics. He was loved by many, and will be missed.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, James Burris and Paul Burris; one sister, Martha.

Survivors include his wife Mary Burris of the home; one daughter, Angie Burris of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Anthony Koontz and Alyssa Koontz; one great grandchild, Maxdon; his Guardian Angel, Kris DeWald.
