John Kyle

John Kyle, 87, of Farmington, NM, passed away on Sunday October 20, 2024. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday November 23, 2024 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

John was born on November 13, 1936 in Winnsboro, Texas to John and Wilma Kyle. He had been a part of the Amarillo community since 1954 and only recently had moved to Farmington to be closer to his family. John worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years and later worked as a contractor for interior Walls. He was a member of “River” and the National Associating of Letter Carriers (Gold Member). John attended Trinity Baptist church here in Amarillo.

John was an avid family man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, R.V. travel and Curly Q Square dancing; He was also a good guitar player. He was known as “Papa” to his grandchildren and enjoyed their company in his free time. He was loved by many and will be missed.

John was preceded in death by his parents ;two sisters Ava and Tootsie; three brothers Earl; Max and Jerry ; his beloved wife Shirley Kyle.

Survivors include his family, including his son Rick Kyle and step-daughter, Sally Fincher and Step son David Brown; grandchildren Kia Gonzales;  Chris Kyle and Jace Fincher; his three Great Grandchildren, Courtney Kyle, Reva Gonzales and Silas Gonzales. Survivors also include a host of extended family and friends .
