John Odus Skipworth

John was born on November 16, 1950 in Fort Sumner, NM to Kay Lee and Jouana Skipworth. He was raised in Fort Sumner, graduating from Fort Sumner High School in 1968. He went on to attend West Texas University before attending Eastern New Mexico University. John worked for Yeso Ranch as a foreman for over 5 years before his employment at Xcel machinery until his retirement after 7 years. He married Di Ann Givens on April 8, 1985 in Farwell. He enjoyed riding horses in his spare time and was a collector at heart. His friends and family would consider him to be kind and giving and a good friend to many. He is survived by his wife, Di Ann Skipworth of Amarillo; father, Kay Lee Skipworth of Clovis, NM; stepson, Christopher Givens and wife Tristin of Snyder; stepdaughter, Tarah Wheeler and husband Rooster of Frisco; 2 brothers, Buddy Skipworth and wife Susan of Muleshoe and Tommy Skipworth and wife Sophie of Tula Rosa, NM and his step grandchildren, Brendan and Braelei Givens. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother.
