John Wayne Sutton

John Wayne Sutton, 97, formerly of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday March 12, 2022 in Bonham, Texas. The family will receive friends on Sunday March 20, 2022 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday March 21, 2022 at Llano Cemetery with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

John was born on January 06, 1925 in Liberal Kansas to Earl and Hannah Sutton. He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy; John was a part of the Seabees Battalion in the pacific. He married Bobbie Whiteley in Clayton, New Mexico in 1952. John worked many years in the sheet metal industry before going full time into the HVAC industry. Eventually He opened his own business, Sutton’s Heating and Air. John was a most giving, devoted and loving family man. He enjoyed helping people from all walks of life.

John was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wendell Sutton and Eldon Sutton and his wife Bobbie; one daughter, Lennie Miller.

Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Palmer of Denver, Colorado; two sons, John Sutton Jr. and wife Vicki of Amarillo, Les Sutton and wife Rhonda of Anna, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
