Johnny Eugene Phelan

Gene was born Nov. 6, 1942, in Borger to John and Lela Phelan. He was a graduate of Dumas High School and West Texas State University. Above all, Gene loved his Lord Savior Jesus Christ and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Tommye Kaye Simmons Phelan; two daughters, Deborah Lynn Phelan Casida and husband Tyler and Rebecca "Becky" Jean Phelan Loewenstern and husband Kevin; three sons, Michael Joe Phelan, Christopher Glenn Phelan and wife Alyce and Terry Duane Phelan and wife Cathy; three stepdaughters, Melanie Jo Farmer Veazey, Laura Jan Farmer Berg and husband Ronnie and Julie Jeanetta Farmer Graham; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, James "Tubby" Phelan and wife Delores; his sister, Patricia "Pat" Phelan Finley and husband Jim; four nephews; and two nieces.
